Melrose Education Foundation Now Accepting Grant Applications
Applications from all Melrose Public School educators accepted on rolling basis
MELROSE, MA (February 27, 2017) – The Melrose Education Foundation has made $5,000 in mini-grant funding available to Melrose Public School educators. Educators can apply for mini-grants of up to $350 each online at www.MelroseEdFoundation.org starting Monday, February 27, 2017.
With the input of educators, this mini-grant round is being offered earlier in the year, the application is shorter, and the individual grant cap has been raised to $350. All decisions will be made on a rolling basis, and applicants will be notified of decisions within three weeks of submitting their application.
This grant round will close when funds are exhausted, so educators across all subjects and grade levels in all Melrose Public Schools are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible. Grants can be used to purchase professional development, technology, and curriculum materials to pilot new initiatives or to expand successful programs already underway to reach more students.
This grant availability follows a successful round of grants in the fall of 2016, during which the Foundation awarded funds totaling more than $22,000 to educators. A non-profit 501(c)(3), the Melrose Education Foundation launched in June 2013 and offers a fall and spring grant cycle. Overall, the Foundation has awarded grants totaling over $100,000 and supporting educators at every school from the Franklin Early Childhood Center through Melrose High School.
The Foundation encourages parents and community members to remind educators they know about the availability of Melrose Education Foundation grants and to urge them to apply.
The Foundation proudly thanks its many supporters, including its Board of Directors, dozens of volunteers, individual donors and local corporate partners like the Melrose Cooperative Bank Foundation and Rockland Trust.
