MELROSE (October 5, 2015) – The Melrose Education Foundation – in partnership with the City of Melrose – is making $30,000 in grants available to Melrose Public School educators and staff until November 9. Educators can apply for grants online at www.melroseedfoundation.org/mef-grants.
Grant recipients will be notified by Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 5 pm.
Educators and staff across all subjects and grade levels in Melrose Public Schools are encouraged to apply. Grants can be used to purchase professional development, technology, and curriculum materials as a way to pilot new initiatives or expand on innovative programs already underway.
A non-profit 501(c)(3), The Melrose Education Foundation launched in June 2013 and offers a fall and spring grant cycle.
“Every year, educators’ interest in our grants grows. Over the past two years, we have awarded nearly 80 grants to educators, totaling more than $50,000,” said Lisa Lewis, president of the Melrose Education Foundation. “Thanks to our wonderful donors and partners, such as the City of Melrose and the Amazing Grace Golf Tournament, we hope to continue to be able help kick start teacher’s exciting new initiatives.”
The Foundation encourages parents to remind their children’s teachers about the availability of Melrose Education Foundation Grants and to urge them to apply.
