Grant Year: 2013-2014
Recipient: Rebecca DiLeo, Roosevelt

“My students always ask to share their work on the HoverCam. They love being the teacher and I love to see them excited to share and explain their thinking. Every classroom at every age level would benefit from having a document camera like the HoverCam.”

— Rebecca DiLeo, Kindergarten teacher

This Kindergarten class at the Roosevelt is using the HoverCam document camera daily.  The HoverCam projects the image of an object placed below its lens to the classroom Smartboard. The class uses it to read books together, share student work, learn how to use math manipulatives, and many other actives that need to be enlarged for the whole class to see. The students also use it to explain how they completed their tasks.

“I am amazed at how much easier it is for the children to participate in activates when the work, book, or manipulative are enlarged for them to see, touch and manipulate on the SmartBoard,” says DiLeo.
